Baku, Fineko/abc.az. When summarizing the results of the spring
session the Azerbaijani parliamentarians did not sidestep vital issues.
At a press conference in Baku Milli Majlis deputy speaker Bahar
Muradova has informed that the Azerbaijani side will respond adequately
to the attempts of illegal flights over Nagorno Garabagh occupied
by Armenia.
"There are international laws governing issues of flight of civil
aircrafts, and Azerbaijan has always preferred to operate within
its framework. The Azerbaijani side has always based itself on the
standards in relations with Armenia, and with appearance of tension
on this matter the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)
also expressed its position that the parties must adhere to these
requirements. If we commit ourselves to ensure the safety of both
civil and other flying objects over our airspace, the other party has
committed not to violate the sovereign rights of another country. That
is why if the Armenian side has given its consent to it, it means it
also agreed not to fly over the airspace of Azerbaijan," Muradova said.
She added that in case Armenia carries out illegal flights over the
territory of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijani side will give an adequate
answer.
