Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received the newly appointed Ambassador
Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iran to Armenia Mohammed Reisi.
The Prime Minister congratulated the Ambassador on appointment and
wished him a productive activity.
"We highly appreciate the Armenian-Iranian relations and are ready to
make consistent efforts for their further deepening, expansion and
development. This derives from the interests of our two peoples,"
Tigran Sargsyan said.
Tigran Sargsyan noted that the joint Armenian-Iranian programs are
in the focus of Government's attention and Armenia is resolute to
complete their implementation.
The Ambassador congratulated Tigran Sargsyan on the victory of the
Republican Party of Armenia in the parliamentary elections. Mohammed
Reisi said "Iran attaches great importance to the relations
with Armenia and is ready to make all efforts for their further
development."
Touching upon large-scale joint programs, the parties noted that the
works towards construction of the third Armenia-Iran high-voltage
power line, the oil pipeline and the Meghri HPP will soon enter a
practical stage.
The interlocutors discussed other programs of reciprocal interest.
They emphasized the importance of tourism-promotion programs and
development of decentralized cooperation between Armenia and Iran.
The Prime Minister hailed the balanced position of the Iranian
authorities on the issue of settlement of the Karabakh issue, which
contributes to the establishment of stability in the region.
