AMD 1.3 BILLION RELEASED BY GOVERNMENT TO FINANCE 21 SMES LOAN APPLICATIONS

YEREVAN, July 23. /ARKA/. Some 1.3 billion drams were released by the
government in the first six months of the year to finance 21 loan
applications as part of a government-designed program to guarantee
lending to small and medium enterprises, economy minister Tigran
Davtyan told a news conference today.
According to him, in January-June this year the government considered
and approved 4,435 applications from SMEs on technical and financial
assistance. The minister emphasized that 93.5% of businesses that
received assistance in 2012 operated outside Yerevan.
The government program is handled by the government-affiliated National
Centre for Development of Small and Medium Enterprises founded in 2002
and overseen by the Board of Trustees chaired by economy ministe.
