ARMENIA'S PUBLIC COUNCIL DISCUSSES "CLEAN" TV

YEREVAN. - The Armenian Public Council held a session Friday, during
which two matters were discussed: a new television broadcast policy
and a law on the Public Council.
While discussing the television broadcast matter, Council member
Hovik Musaelyan introduced a package of proposals, which comprises the
Council's respective suggestions, the Council's press service informs.
The Public Council will hold discussions with the administrators
of Armenia's television companies in the coming days, during
which the aforesaid proposals will be introduced. Council Chairman
Vazgen Manukyan noted that the public discussions, with reference
to television broadcast issues, will continue in September, and,
as a result, a relevant document will be prepared and subsequently
submitted to the President.
And during discussion of a law on the Public Council, a working group
was formed upon Manukyan's instruction. The participants examined
the Council's objectives, principles, functions, and makeup.
