YEREVAN. - The Constitutional Court of Armenia disallowed the Armenian
National Congress' (ANC) formal petition, and left in force the Central
Electoral Commission's (CEC) decision, Armenian News-NEWS.am reporter
informs from the Court. The latter ruled:
1) To leave in force the CEC's May 13 decision with respect to the
election of National Assembly (NA) MPs by way of proportional election
system; and
2) Pursuant to the Constitution, this ruling is final and it enters
into force upon publicizing.
To note, the Constitutional Court had started examining on May 25 the
ANC's formal request to cancel the results of the May 6 NA elections.
