PanARMENIAN.Net - The EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus
and the Crisis in Georgia, Ambassador Philippe Lefort commented on
ceasefire violation cases and Azerbaijani provocation at the contact
line, saying that the OSCE is in charge of the issue.
During a meeting with the teaching staff of Yerevan State University
(YSU) Center for European Studies he noted that the parties reached
an agreement on investigating incidents at the line of contact.
"Deaths caused by sniper shots are a tragedy. Such incidents add fuel
to the fire," he said, adding that the EU is trying to improve the
situation, given the experience of conduction of talks in Georgia.
Mr. Lefort said that Ireland has taken over OSCE presidency,
considering its prior experience of conflict resolution.
