country's parliament.

speakers at a session of the executive body of the Republican Party,
which is led by President Serzh Sargsyan, on Wednesday.
Sharmazanov, who is the party's press secretary, first became the
parliament's deputy speaker in December 2011.

parliament earlier on Thursday. He previously held this post from
2008 to November 2011.
The Republican Party won 44.05% of the vote in a parliamentary election
on May 6, which guaranteed its majority at the parliament and enabled
it to form a new government on its own.
The faction of the Armenian National Congress led by former President
Levon Ter-Petrosian is not taking part in the first parliamentary
session.
The faction of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Dashnaktsutyun
