YEREVAN. - Armenia's Acting Agriculture Minister Sergo Karapetyan on
Tuesday received French Ambassador Henri Reynaud.
The Acting Minister noted that a double-digit agricultural growth
was recorded in Armenia last year and this trend will continue this
year, too.
They stressed that the intensive meetings and discussions will give
new impetus to the agricultural conference to be jointly convened
in September.
"This will be the first practical step, which will be followed by
cooperation in precise domains," noted Karapetyan.
"We are able to satisfy the demands of the domestic market. We look
toward increasing the export of fresh and refined agricultural products
to Russian and European markets," said the Minister, and added that
refined products are exported to France as well.
"Those organizations, including the French ones, that wish to export
will receive our assistance," said Armenia's Acting Agriculture
Minister.
In his turn, the French Ambassador expressed a readiness to assist
in agriculture-related matters, and noted that he already met with
representatives from the French wholesale trade market.
"They are interested in Armenia's agricultural products, specifically
the exporting of vegetables and fruits. In all probability, this
process will commence soon," noted the Ambassador.
At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Henri Reynaud reconfirmed Sergo
Karapetyan's visit to France, which is scheduled after the September
conference on agriculture.
