Azerbaijan and Armenia's foreign ministers and co-chairs of the
OSCE Minsk Group will meet in Paris on June 18, Azerbaijani Foreign
Minister Elmar Mamedyarov told a news conference after the talks with
his Ukrainian counterpart Konstantin Grishchenko on Tuesday.
"We will meet with my Armenian counterpart Edvard Nalbandyan and
co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group on Nagorno Karabakh in Paris on
June 18," he said.
At this meeting "Azerbaijan will try to persuade the Armenian side
that it is unacceptable to further maintain the status quo."
"We've always realized that this theme is rather vulnerable and the
conflicting parties as well as international mediators need to search
for the ways out of the lingering conflict," he said.
Mamedyarov noted that the armed accident, where five Azerbaijani
servicemen died, will exert a negative effect on the negotiating
process on Nagorno Karabakh.
"Until this conflict is resolved, such accidents like that one that
happened on Tuesday, unfortunately, will continue, therefore we
call on Armenia to start work on a comprehensive peace agreement,"
the diplomat said.
