USA KEEPS SOUTH CAUCASIAN REGION IN FOCUS, ALEXANDER ARZUMANYAN SAYS

The visit of the US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to the region
proved the USA keeping the region in focus, without going to yield
its positions, member of Free Democrats party, MP Alexander Arzumanyan
told the reporters today.
According to him, the South Caucasus should be a cooperation platform
and not an arena of clashes. "I agree that the time of Azerbaijani
attack was planned," he said, adding that it was a "message" to show
how Azerbaijan will settle the conflict in case it is not regulated
in its favor. He said the war will likely to resume in case Azerbaijan
understands it can win.
Arzumanyan condemned the political figures and analysts claiming that
Armenia is gradually yielding its positions.
Referring to Clitnon's statement about the new approaches to the
conflict settlement to be presented by the OSCE Minsk group co-chairs
at the Paris meeting of the foreign ministers, the MP said new
proposals over the Karabakh conflict settlement are unlikely. "It is
just necessary to return to the previous format when Nagorno Karabakh
was too engaged in the conflict settlement process," he said.
