    Vietnamese leaders meet with Armenian President in Hanoi

    HANOI June 8


    General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central
    Committee Nguyen Phu Trong, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and
    National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung respectively met with
    Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan in capital Hanoi on Friday during
    his visit to Vietnam.

    At the meeting, Trong spoke highly of Serzh Sargsyan's official visit
    to Vietnam, saying that Vietnam always attaches importance to
    relations between the two countries.

    Trong applauded the remarkable results Armenia has achieved in recent
    years and expressed his hope to further develop the fine relationships
    between Vietnam-Armenia for the benefit of the two nations and
    regional stability.

    For his part, Serzh Sargsyan congratulated Vietnam's achievements in
    the innovation progress under the leadership of the Vietnamese
    Communist Party and applauded Vietnam's role and position in regional
    and world arena.

    Armenia is willing to further cooperate with Vietnam in all fields,
    especially in economics, trade, science-technology, education and
    training, and tourism, he said.

    On the same day, Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and
    National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung met with Armenian
    President respectively, during which both sides agreed to promote
    bilateral ties in the coming years.
