The efforts of the Turkish authorities to unite the 6.5 million
Turkish Diaspora worldwide are aimed against the Armenian Diaspora,
which is much smaller than the Turkish one, says Richard Giragosian,
Head of the Center for Regional Studies.
"Diaspora Ministry must immediately respond to the given actions as
that fact threatens to security of the Armenian Diaspora," Giragosian
told media, Monday.
He recalled that last week the Turkish authorities in Turkey held a
two-day that involved over 500 representatives of the Turkish Diaspora.
In addition, the expert said that 5 ministers and 2 deputy ministers
attended the event. It testifies, he said, that the given event was
more important than the visit by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to
the region. The anti-terrorism forum, which Secretary Clinton attended,
involved less power representatives than the above event.
