ARFD: CONTINUATION OF STUPIDITY

There is disproportion of political activeness inside the ARFD. While
the leadership of the party is finally confused and has no idea on
what to do, completely new processes are happening in the rows of
the party since Dashnaks are concerned not only about the situation
in the country but also the one in the party.
A number of people representing the party's "elite" are trying to
disassociate themselves from the involvement or responsibility for
the policy that has been carried out for 14 years. Sure, they will
fail to disassociate or shift the responsibility for the catastrophic
situation of the party as well as the nationalistic policy. At the
same time, the current leadership of the party, understanding that
the solution is almost here, is apparently trying to stir up the
already stirred party life.
The head of the party has recently been to Stepanakert and, like
before, he made a volunteer step exerting pressure on his party fellows
regarding the support to the NKR acting president Bako Sahakyan at the
upcoming presidential elections. At the same time, it is completely
unclear why the ARFD will have to support the acting president - for
political or ideological ideas, and if yes, then what are the grounds?
As the second candidate for president Vitali Balasanyan says he has
cooperated for years with the Dashnaks including activities in the
parliamentary group, and he is now surprised at the decision of his
friend. There is no doubt that there has been no serious or principled
reason to support any candidate for president. At least, now, when
the party is waiting for the principled assessment of activities of
its leadership, they could avoid such senseless and stupid steps.
But the major crime is that except three or four obedient party members
of the Karabakh's organization of Dashnaks, no one else supports these
thoughtless actions. That is, the ARFD leadership, without taking into
account the opinions of the party members, without consulting them,
has imposed on them its personal ideas. It is also clear who and how
elaborated and took such a decision.
So, the stupidity is continuing and it can't be stopped. After the
outrageous results by ARFD in the parliamentary elections in Armenia,
no conclusions were drawn and no decisions were taken, but they keep
going downhill without any hope to salvation of what has already
been broken.
We need to say that there are no mental, spiritual or ideological
problems in the party. Everything is fine with this. Opportunists,
illiterate people appeared in the party rows who have nothing in
common with the party or nationalistic interests. Now, many true
Dashnaks, who have cut their ties with the party for some reason,
will be back and will take new people with them.
The most humane method of ridding the party ballast may be the creation
of a party pension fund for the social insurance of bankrupt leaders
and functionaries. ARF Dashnaktsutyun MPs of the Armenian parliament
had better lay down their mandates hence making a radical step towards
the reconsideration of their political tasks.
ARFD, which is a nonconformist party by definition, is stuck in
conformism. It is time to end this situation, freebie is over, it is
time to break trough.
