YEREVAN. - The opposition Armenian National Congress' (ANC) National
Assembly (NA) Faction leader, ANC Central Office Coordinator Levon
Zurabyan met with NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan and raised the issue of
forming Armenia's new NA delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of
the Council of Europe (PACE). Zurabyan himself informed this during
a press conference on Tuesday.
In his words, Abrahamyan noted that the old delegation can still
function for six more months following Armenia's NA elections, which
were held on May 6.
Zurabyan, however, believes that even if the law allows this, NA
chairman should have acted according to logic, that is to say, a new
delegation should have been formed and this would have reflected the
election outcome.
"Not doing this means they are afraid the Congress' voice will reach
PACE," added Levon Zurabyan.
