150 MLN CUBIC METERS WATER WITHDRAWN FROM LAKE SEVAN

Today, the government of Armenia adopted projects on Lake Sevan and
restoration of the ecosystem of Lake Sevan which will supply irrigation
water to the lands fed by Sevan-Hrazdan energy-irrigation system.
According to Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, an emergency situation has
occurred due to the lack of water which threatens the farming areas
of Ararat valley, so the government is forced to ask the National
Assembly's permission to take 150 mln cubic meters of water from Lake
Sevan for this purpose.
