A 24-year-old repatriate from Armenia, who had left for Israel in 2004
with his family, filed a lawsuit against the Israel Defense Forces
(IDF) for the humiliation and gird he suffered in an IDF military
prison.
The young Armenian had voluntarily enlisted in the Israeli army, ITV
informs, and he commenced to serve in the air defense.
But when his father left the family, his mother - who was working as a
janitor - was unable to feed herself and her son. So, the young man left
the army on his own volition and worked to help his mother.
Subsequently, he surrendered himself to the military police, and then
he was placed in a military prison. And, according to him, the
violations against him started there.
He was able to come out of prison solely after a suicide attempt. He
did not eat and speak for three months, whereas the doctors were
claiming that he had a `normal shock.' In addition, he suffers from
seizures of rage. MOD representatives announced that the soldier's
complaint is received and it is being examined by the respective
departments, Izrus informs.
