Democratic Party of Armenia is not going to wait for another 5 years
so that to turn its election promises into reality. We have started
fulfilling them right now, chairman of Democratic Party of Armenia,
Aram Sargsyan, said at today's press-conference.
"The Armenian refugees from Azerbaijan live in the awful conditions.
Their houses are like a disaster zone. It is already for 23 year that
they have been living is such conditions. Many refugees expelled from
Azerbaijan left Armenia long ago. The rest stayed here, as they have
no other way out and the means to leave", - Sargsyan said.
Sargsyan thinks that the government of Armenia has to draw out a
special programme on improvement of the living conditions of refugees
expelled from Azerbaijan. He also added that his party has drawn out
the needed programme and is going to submit it to the government soon.
"Azerbaijan is happy to see the poor state of refugees of Armenia. The
authorities of Armenia have to immediately take the relevant measures,
otherwise the Armenian expelled form Azerbaijan will be forced to
leave Armenia as well", - Sargsyan said.
To note, the flow of the refugees to Armenia has started since the
beginning of the Karabakh movement in 1988. More than 400 thsd of
Armenians arrived in Armenia during several years, 360 thsd of which
were deported from Azerbaijan.
