HAYKAKAN ZHAMANAK: COUNCIL OF DOCTORS FINDS BEATEN COLLEAGUE'S CONDITION HOPELESS

The paper says it has learned from sources that doctors at the Defense
Ministry's central hospital convened a council on Wednesday to decide
the condition of Vahe Avetyan, the military doctor beaten severely
at Yerevan's Harsnaqar restaurant on Sunday evening.
The best specialists had to admit with regret that medicine is no
longer powerful to save their colleague and all they can do now is to
rely on a miracle, says the paper. It further adds that Avetyan was
already in a critical condition when being hospitalized with another
colleague, though artificial support systems were deemed enough to
prevent further deterioration. As for the other doctors injured in
the incident, their condition is said to be satisfactory, with none
facing threats to life, says the paper, adding that several people
were finally arrested over the incident on Tuesday.
