MILITARY-POLITICAL ROUND OF "COOPERATION-2012" JOINT EXERCISES LAUNCHES

YEREVAN, JUNE 26, ARMENPRESS: The military-political round of
"Cooperation-2012" joint exercises launched June 25 with participation
of the CSTO Rapid Reaction Force. Representatives of Armenian
ministries, departments and other state governing bodies are involved
in them. The goal of the exercises is to increase the preparedness
level of relevant structures in conditions of military situation.
Press service of the Defense Ministry of Armenia told Armenpress that
in the framework of the exercises a session of the National Security
Council was summoned, during which the conditional military and
political situation created over Armenia was discussed. Taking into
consideration the presented proposals and the conditional military and
political situation, a decision on applying to CSTO member states for
implementation of relevant operations and getting support was adopted.
A session of the government was also convened in the frame of the
exercises, during which the relevant departments were given assignments
on organization and conduction of events intended by the legal regime
of the military situation. The joint exercises will continue till
June 27.
