SERZH SARGSYAN TO PARTICIPATE IN EPP SUMMIT

YEREVAN, JUNE 26, ARMENPRESS: The heads of member and non-member states
of the European Union, the oppositional leaders of the European Peoples
Party (EPP) will participate in the upcoming plenary summit due June
28-29 in Brussels.
As Armenpress reports, Presidents of the European Council and European
Commission Herman Van Rompuy and Jose Manuel Barroso will attend the
summit. The summit will be chaired by EPP President Wilfried Martens.
16 out of 27 members of the European Council are EPP representatives.
Republican Party of Armenia, Rule of Law and Heritage parties have
become members of the European People's Party February 9, 2012.
According to the decision adopted at the EPP congress the three parties
received status of observers, which is the only available status for
non-members of the EU.
In the framework of two-day working visit President Serzh Sargsyan
will participate in EPP summit in Brussels June 27.
