Austrian President Heinz Fischer and his spouse visited today Garni
temple in Armenia's region of Kotayk, and then departed for Geghard.
In Geghard complex the Austrian delegation toured in St Mary (Surb
Astvatsatsin) church.
Speaking to reporters, the Austrian president said he has managed
to be in few sites in Armenia but has been greatly impressed with
Geghard complex and the spiritual songs by young singers. "Their
voice seemed divine for me. Geghard is not only Armenia's cultural
treasure but the treasure of world culture," he said.
"I am impressed with the hospitality of Armenians, smiling journalists,
there are no such in Austria and Vienna," he said.
Heinz Fischer will wrap up his three-day visit to Armenia after being
hosted in Etchmiadzin by His Holiness Catholicos of All Armenians.
