RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan stated today that the government
would be raising the licensing standards for the importation of vodka,
and thus levelling the playing field in favour of domestic producers.
PM Sargsyan noted that currently importers have an easier time when
it comes to getting their product into Armenia when compared to
domestic producers.
"You could say that we are defending local production by creating
equal conditions for all. The new regulations will also beef up
product monitoring, particularly from a health safety viewpoint. It
will also assist us in carrying out our international obligations in
this respect," Sargsyan said.
