MEMBER OF ARMENIAN DELEGATION TO PACE: THE GENERATION GROWN UP AT AZERBAIJANI TEXTBOOKS WILL BE EVEN MORE INTOLERANT, RACIST AND EXTREMIST

A member of the Armenian delegation to PACE, Naira Zohrabyan, made
a speech at PACE session and blamed authorities of Baku for the
propagation policy in the school programme.
"Today Europe undergoes a crisis of democracy, one of the reasons of
which is populist extremism in many member-states of the Council of
Europe which is leading to the atmosphere of hatred and intolerance.
Earlier PACE called on the CE member-states to involve in the school
programmes the anti-racist education and propaganda of peaceful
settlement of conflicts. I draw your attention to the contents
of several Azerbaijani textbooks and demand to make an expert
examination. The generation grown up at Azerbaijani textbooks will
be even more intolerant, racist and extremist, and we shall have
more complicated problems than those which Europe faces today", -
Zohrabyan emphasized.
