Candidate for Nagorno-Karabakh President, member of the
Nagorno-Karabakh Parliament Vitaly Balasanyan has been expelled from
the parliamentary group of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation
Dashnaktsutyun of Nagorno-Karabakh (ARFD).
ArmInfo's own correspondent in Stepanakert reports that now the ARFD
has five members in the NKR Parliament. They in the party say that
Balasanyan was expelled because of contradictions.
"We had to choose: to support one of the candidates or nobody. We have
decided to support acting President Bako Sahakyan. Logically we should
have supported Balasanyan but the point is that he was nominated by his
own self rather than by our party," says ARFD member David Ishkanyan.
Experts say that Balasanyan will be the key rival of Sahakyan during
the July 19 presidential election in Nagorno-Karabakh.
