OSKANIAN: ARMENIA WAS WRONG IN AGREEING TO MAXIMUM CONCESSIONS IN KARABAKH TALKS
June 28, 2012 - 18:46 AMT
PanARMENIAN.Net - Ex-Foreign Minister, Prosperous Armenia party member
Vartan Oskanian slammed the official Yerevan's policy line in Karabakh
conflict negotiations.
"I believe, Armenia committed a mistake for prematurely agreeing to
maximum of concessions without making sure Azerbaijan will respond
in kind. The official Yerevan made a similar mistake during a
rapprochement attempt with Turkey, with talks currently in a
stalemate," the politician said on his Facebook page.
As he noted, during her visit to Yerevan, U.S. State Secretary Hillary
Clinton tried to get Armenia to agree to a couple of Azeri proposals.
"However, Secretary Clinton failed, as Armenia had nothing to add to
stipulations adopted during a meeting in Kazan."
"Though Karabakh settlement mediators are accusing every conflicting
party, clearly, it's Azerbaijan who's hindering the negotiations'
progress with its radical demands, military rhetoric and border
attacks," Oskanian said.
