YEREVAN. - Turkey violated air space of Syria by the permission of
NATO in an attempt to provoke Damascus, expert in Turkish studies
Levon Hovsepyan said at a press conference on Thursday.
According to him, if it were the first case of violating air space
by Turkey, Syria would not have attacked the Turkish jet.
"It seems like Turkish jets have violated air space of Syria for many
times and Damascus decided to take proper actions. It is nothing
but provocation aimed to check how the state will react in case of
military aggression," Hovsepyan said adding Turkey will not declare
war on Syria and will continue to act under the protection of the
NATO and implement its tasks.
