Today Armenia marks the day of missing freedom fighters. About 80
Armenian soldiers died on this day 20 years ago. They were considered
missing up until 2008.
Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan, accompanied by the
commandership of the Ministry of Defense and the armed forces,
representatives of the Public Council and NGOs and veterans of the
Arstakh war, visited Yerablur Pantheon today and laid flowers at the
memorial to the missing persons, the heroes perished in the Arsakh
liberation struggle, the graves of Vazgen Sargsyan and Andranik.
At an event held at the Chamber Music Hall 50 missing soldiers were
posthumously awarded Medals for Courage.
