Chief of Armenian Police Vladimir Gasparyan signed on Thursday several
decrees to replace the heads of police departments in capital Yerevan
and several cities and towns across Armenia.
As photo reporter Gagik Shamshyan told Tert.am, the chief of
Vagharshapat city's Police Department, Colonel Gevorg Khachatryan,
has been sacked from office; he will be replaced by Vice Colonel Gagik
Gabrielyan, the chief of the Erebuni district's Police Department
(Yerevan).
Under another decree by Gasparyan, Colonel Levon Yazichyan, the
head of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Yerevan Police,
will replace Gabrielyan.
The chief of Gyumri Police, Colonel Varuzh Shashikyan, will now be in
charge of the police department of Yerevan's administrative district
Avan. The Police Department in the second largest city will be headed
by Colonel Vahe Danielyan.
