Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian has maintained the second place
in the latest ranking published by FIDE. With 2 820 points Aronian
yields 15 points to #1 Magnus Carlsen of Norway.
The top 100 of FIDE also includes Armenian grandmasters Sergei
Movsesian (41th), Vladimir Akopian (64th) and Gabriel Sargissian
(72th).
The FIDE Top 100 female players list includes three Armenian
grandmasters. Elina Danielian is 25th with the rating of 2 478,
followed by Lilit Lazarian (33rd) and Lilit Galojan (98th).
Armenia comes 4th in the rating of countries. Russia tops the list
of chess nations, followed by China and Ukraine.
