The National Assembly of Armenia passed a draft law Thursday defining
the legal regime in the country in case a state of emergency is
imposed.
The 131-member Armenian parliament adopted the draft law with 67
votes for and one against, as two parliamentary opposition parties
Heritage and the Armenian Revolutionary Federation refused to take
part in the voting.
Local analysts say the law is a precautionary measure by the government
ahead of the upcoming parliamentary elections on May 6.
