ART EXPO 2012 OPENS IN ARMENIA'S CAPITAL

The ART expo 2012 exhibition opened at the Artists' Union of Armenia
on Friday.
The exhibition was opened on the occasion of the 500th anniversary
of the first Armenian printed book and declaration of Yerevan World
Book Capital City.
Over 200 projects are participating in the exhibition, the topics
being Literary Armenia, Our Independence is 20 years, Community EXPO,
Traditional Art and Lifestyle and others.
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan participated in the opening
ceremony. He made a tour of all the 44 pavilions. The Armenian leader
wrote a welcoming entry to the album released on the occasion. "Our
capital city Yerevan, which has a millennia-long history, embraces
the glory and memory of capital cities of the past and is a symbol of
stability and future of the Armenians scattered throughout the world,"
the Armenian leader's message says.
Armenian Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosyan told journalists that
the exhibition is attracting more and more people year by year.
Numerous cultural workers attended the exhibition.
The ART Expo exhibition was held in 2009.
