Anniversary of UN membership of the Republic of Armenia
2012-03-03 15:50:49 | | Politics
Today is historical for the Armenian people. Led by universal values
and the fundamental idea of peaceful coexistence, twenty years ago the
newly-independent Armenia joined the family of the united nations.
Armenia has honorably accepted the obligations envisaged by the UN
Charter, which coincide with our people's desires.
During two decades Armenia has brought its continuous contribution to
the realization of the UN purposes- the maintenance of international
peace and security, the settlement of disputes peacefully and based on
principles of international law, the development of friendly relations
among nations based on respect for the principle of equal rights and
self-determination of peoples, the international co-operation in
solving problems of an economic, social, cultural, or humanitarian
character, the promotion of
respect for human rights and for fundamental freedoms.
With the international community's joint efforts Armenia will continue
its engaged participation in the UN activities to address global
challenges and find solutions to the existing problems with an aim to
assure more secure, peaceful, stable and dignified future for
humanity.
