YEREVAN. - Russia is a world power and its foreign interests are
preserved, expert Alexander Iskandaryan said at a press conference
on Monday commenting on his previous claims that Russian authorities
will focus on domestic issues and shift their foreign policy towards
Syria and Iran.
According to him, Russia's position on Syria and Iran has been to a
great extent dictated by both domestic and foreign policy interests.
"Nevertheless, internal policy interest disappeared after the
presidential elections in Russia. But, foreign interests are still
preserved. I do not believe that they will be changed completely. The
Iranian issue will be ruled the same way as before," the expert added.
