The Azerbaijani army is responsible for the murder of the two soldiers
in the past two days, political scientist Hrant Melik-Shahnazaryan
told a press conference today.
According to him, the killed soldiers were representatives of
national minorities residing in Azerbaijan. Not accidentally, the
murders followed the acts of protest of about 10 000 representatives
of national minorities held on March 1 and 2, the political scientist
said, adding that "although peaceful outwardly, the rallies were not
void of consequences."
"Azerbaijan continues exerting pressures on the national minorities,"
Melik-Shahnazaryan said. However, according to him, the reaction of
the international community is not unequivocal.
"Some search for elements of the Arab spring, others ascribe it to
social problems. However, this is a national issue," the political
scientist said.
According to him, the ethnic minorities of Azerbaijan treat Armenians
as victors and view the example of Artsakh as a symbol of success in
a struggle for freedom.
