The present authorities of Armenia and retrogressive political system
have turned the country into a drifting ship left to sink or swim, and
the next parliamentary election will worsen the situation even more,
the analyst, a member of the "Sardarapat" movement initiative group,
Garegin Chugaszyan, said during today's round table held in Yerevan.
He also added that the only way out from the situation is creation
of an alternative power through using of the pre-election and
post-election situation in Armenia. "We have no time to wait for
the ruling system to change as a result of evolution, which will
allegedly happen as a result of the parliamentary and presidential
elections. We don't refuse the election institute, we simply think
that in the present conditions having the present ruling regime,
no election are able to make radical changing of the situation", -
he said.
He emphasized that in the present situation the classical politological
approaches, according to which the regime change is taking place
via the elections, have lost their relevance. "We have been living
in the period of the political creative work which supposes leaving
the frames of the standard mentality. The way offered by us - not to
participate in the election and at the same time to create alternative
power structures, fully finds room in the logic of this creative work",
- the analyst concluded.
