YEREVAN
YEREVAN, MARCH 5, ARMENPRESS: Armenia's Permanent Representative to
United Nations, Ambassador Karen Nazaryan has addressed a letter to
UN Secretary General. As press service of Nagorno Karabakh Foreign
Affairs Ministry told Armenpress, the letter specifically states:
"I note with regret that the Azerbaijani representative has again
undertaken and circulated false information in regard to the tragic
events undertaken in 1992 in Khojalu village, which is misleading.
That delegation has repeatedly come forth with anti-Armenian propaganda
and has voiced false statements on the mentioned events on behalf of
Azerbaijani authorities.
It would be appropriate to remind that international community,
including the European Court of Human Rights and numerous international
law enforcement organizations, have called on to set free the
Azerbaijani journalists and lawyers, who have treated the version of
the Azerbaijani government on Khojalu events with suspicion.
Armenia confirms its position, according to which the progress in the
negotiations over peaceful settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict,
in addition to everything, also depends on tolerance and exclusion
of propaganda on disseminating hatred.
>From this viewpoint Karen Nazaryan asked the Secretary General to
circulate his letter attaching the response statement of Nagorno
Karabakh Foreign Affairs Ministry to the letter of the Azerbaijani
representative as an official document on 35th and 39th points of
the General Assembly's agenda and as documents of the National Council.
