Radical, but not revolutionary developments are expected in Russia
after Vladimir Putin's victory in the presidential elections, Director
of the Caucasus Institute Alexander Iskandaryan told a press conference
today.
According to him, Putin will lay the main emphasis on domestic
political and economic issues, and this will start early in May.
Iskandaryan believes Putin's victory will not bring about any changes
in Russia's position on Armenia and the South Caucasus. Moreover,
Russia is not about to exert direct influence on the forthcoming
parliamentary elections in our country and is ready to work with the
authorities formed as a result of elections.
