Venerologist Karen Vardanyan recommends young people to refrain from
having sex until they are 24.

At a news conference on Tuesday, the doctor explained that the human
organism undergoes maturity processes until that age - both physically
    and psychologically.

"It is, of course, very individual, and everyone is responsible for
himself or herself. But it is necessary to explain to teenagers that
they need to do their best to avoid a premature intercourse as that
may cause certain problems," he said.

The expert noted that the average age of sex in Armenia is 19.6
    (as of 2008).

He further said that he does not encourage the distribution of condoms
among young people in the streets.

Samvel Khudoyan, a psychologist also attending the news conference,
recommended women to avoid bearing children if they are aged below
    20 or above 40.

"Experience shows that premature childbirth increases the likelihood
of having unhealthy children. Even the African tribes that start sexual
life at early ages are no recommended to have children," he said.
