GLENDALE - The Armenian Revolutionary Federation Western Region Central
Committee in cooperation with the Glendale Community College Armenian
Student Association organized a conference last week entitled:
`Artsakh: From Liberation to Statehood', that brought together over
    400 community members.

The all-day Conference took place on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at the
Glendale College Auditorium featuring a host of knowledgeable
panelists that discussed various relevant topics pertaining to
Artsakh. The conference consisted of three panel sessions.

The first panel included, Dr. Antranig Kasbarian (NJ) and Dr. Alina
Dorian (LA), moderated by Vache Thomassian and discussed `The Ongoing
Quest for Self-Determination and Impact on Future Generations.'

The second panel explored `Debates, Claims, Revisionisms - Azerbaijani
Theories of Ethno-genesis and Their Impact on Artsakh', and featured
panelists Rouben Galichian (UK) and Dr. Stephan Astourian (Berkeley)
    moderated by Dr. Levon Marashlian.

The third panel reviewed `The Independence of Artsakh: A Path With No
Return', and featured panelists Davit Ishkhanian (Artsakh) and Ara
Papian (Armenia), moderated by Dr. Razmig Shirinian.

The conference's powerful message relayed the importance of a healthy
population, understanding the needs of our fellow Armenians, a history
of our liberated territories, distortion of Azerbaijan's historical
claims, presentation of archived maps that outlined Artsakh's
territorial integrity, the public relations campaign set forth by
Azaerbaijan, self-determination of the people of Artsakh, and various
    sub-topics.

The Artsakh Conference reminded those in attendance of our collective
responsibility in assisting our homeland with the tools, resources,
security, and education needed to ensure a viable future.

`Artsakh has always been and will unequivocally be a priority for all of us.

`Artsakh is an integral part of Armenia and our generation stands
together in support of freedom, security and prosperity for the people
of Artsakh,' said organizing committee member Vache Thomassian.
