Armenia to take part in Eurovision Young Musicians 2012

    14:43 - 10.03.12

Armenia, along with the other members of the European Broadcasting
Union (EBU), is set to attend the "Eurovision Young Musician 2012" in
    May.

According to a press release on the EBU official website, the 14
members of the Union (Armenia, Austria, Belarus, Bosnia and
Herzegovina, Croatia, Czech Republic, Georgia, Germany, Greece, the
Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Slovenia and Ukraine) are going to
represent their solo candidates to first compete in a preliminary
Semi-Final round, out of which the 7 best will be selected by an
international jury to perform live as finalists in the show at the
Rathausplatz (Vienna City Hall Square), in front of a live audience of
    tens of thousands.

The seven finalists will be accompanied by the Vienna Radio Symphony
Orchestra, under the baton of young German conductor Cornelius
Meister. The Event will be hosted by the famous Austrian
    multi-percussionist, Martin Grunbinger.

Tert.am did not manage to find out the Armenian participant's name as
the head of the Armenian delegation to Eurovision, Gohar Gasparyan,
was not available on the phone.

Precisely 30 years after the first edition of the Young Musicians
competition, the 16th EYM Final will be transmitted on 11 May 2012
live on television across Europe and the world via the Eurovision
Network. The winner of the 2010 contest was Slovenia.
