STREET ACTIONS ONLY WAY TO CHANGES IN ARMENIA - OPPOSITIONIST
Tert.am
13.03.12
The New Times party will attempt to cause changes in Armenia by means
of street demonstrations.
At his Tuesday meeting with journalists, party Chairman Aram Karapetyan
said that he meant "revolutions." In this context he mentioned the
Arab countries. Parliament is one of the ways of forcing changes. The
party, however, rejects parliamentary activity as a way toward
serious changes.
On the other hand, Karapetyan says it is not his wish to force changes
by means of street actions. "This is worldwide practice," he said.
In his turn, Manvel Badeyan, an MP of the ruling Republican Party of
Armenia (RPA), noted that the party objects to radical ways though
changes may be tangible in this case.
The party is not running for parliament, and Badeyan considers it
an honest step. "Some parties have less potential than the New Times
party, but they seek to remind the public of themselves," he said.
