Last week's media speculation has turned true regarding beloved
Armenian singer Shushan Petrosyan's political ambitions.
The Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) will include the diva on its
list of candidates for parliament in the May 6 election.
Petrosyan has long enjoyed a reputation as a patriot, through her
music. If elected, she will have a chance to express her concern
through lawmaking.
"She has always been interested in Armenia, and songs about the
homeland have prevailed in her song list," party secretary Eduard
Sharmazanov said on Tuesday. "The party, in all appearances, will
admit the singer's membership, as there will hardly be people who
will be against it."
