YEREVAN, MARCH 16, ARMENPRESS. Turkey's Minister for EU Affairs
and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis spoke about Armenia's refusal to
participate in "Eurovision" in Baku, "Armenpress" reports citing
Turkish "Chaman" daily.
Bagis received Jan Bonomo who will represent Turkey in "Eurovision"
this year. During the press conference after the meeting the Turkish
minister said, " We would prefer Armenia to renounce Karabakh not
the Eurovision".
Once again Turkey employs its strategy of distortion of facts
and politicizes issues where not necessary. Bagis forgot to tell
the journalists that "brotherly" Azerbaijan is unable to provide
Armenians' safety in the European contest thus making it impossible
and inadmissible for Karabakh to survive as a part of Ajerbaijan.
Bagis also criticized recent harsh statements addressed to Ajerbaijan
announcing that "Azerbaijan is a democratic country that respects
international rights."
