Robert Bradtke, the US co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, said that
Azerbaijan and Armenia are closer to settling the Nagorno-Karabakh
conflict than they believe. The Minsk Group helped them consider
basic principles of settling the conflict, Trend reports.
The official said that the organization prevented a new war and helped
organize links between the sides of conflict.
The diplomatic wants more international support in the process. The
US, France and Russia cooperate actively with the sides of conflict.
Bradtke says that dialogue is essential. One of the goals of the
latest visit to the region was to meet local authorities of both
sides to discuss water supplies, agriculture and energy. Status quo
is unacceptable, he emphasizes. The Minsk Group must achieve progress.
