YEREVAN. - Non-regulated artificial insemination may become a national
threat, parliament opposition ARF Dashnaktsutyun MP Artsvik Minasyan
said in the Parliament.
He recalled that despite law "On reproductive health and reproductive
rights" exists, it does not regulate the import of sperm from abroad.
As Armenian Minister of Healthcare Harutyun Kushkyan was absent,
Minister of Justice Hrayr Tovmasyan responded to the question. He
said that surrogacy and artificial insemination cases are registered
in Armenia but no legal complications were brought forward.
"The law does regulate the field. However, more exact answer will be
given by Healthcare Minister," Tovmasyan said.
