Gagik Jhangiryan, a member of the opposition Armenian National Congress
(ANC), is sure that the ANC will gain an overwhelming majority in
Armenia's parliament provided free and fair elections are held on
May 6.
As to the reasons for his not running for parliament from a
single-member constituency, Jhangiryan said: "I have never said I
am going to run for parliament in a single-member constituency. My
brother is running for parliament."
Arman Musinyan, Spokesman for ANC Chairman Levon Ter-Petrosyan,
stressed that the ANC has not nominated its candidates in all the
41 constituencies. "We have candidates in 38 election districts,
a minor deviation from our previous statement. I think voters will
forgive us," he said.
