SCR organizes contest for Gyumri school children

PanARMENIAN.Net - South Caucasus Railways (SCR) CJSC together with
Imtour travel agency, Shirak football club and Rosgosstrakh-Armenia
insurance company organized an intellectual contest-festival "Our
Motherland" for 200 students of 7-12 classes from Gyumri.
The festival comprises three stages. During the first phase internal
selection in schools of Gyumri was conducted to be followed by the
second stage of testing. During the first and second stages the
participants answered questions relating to history, geography,
environment, culture and sports in Armenia.
The third stage of the competition launched on March 24.
152 participants travelled from Gyumri to Alaverdi, Sanahin, Dsegh on
SCR train early in the morning. The final stage of the contest will
take place in the spiritual and cultural center of Haghpat.
The winner will be awarded a seven-day trip to Greece `Following the
tracks of Alexander of Macedon' from Imtour travel company.
`Travelling by Armenian railway will boosts pupils' awareness of their
Motherland and deepen their knowledge of history and geography. Such
contests will be consistent and involve pupils from all provinces of
Armenia,' press release of the company said.
