YEREVAN. - Armenia's anti-hail stations will increase by 35 this
year, Deputy Agriculture Minister Robert Makaryan said during a
press conference on Wednesday. He also informed that, at present,
there are close to 185 such stations in the country.
According to Makaryan, since the hail clouds enter Armenia primarily
from Turkey's territory, the new anti-hail stations will be set up
along the Armenian-Turkish border, specifically in the Ararat and
Armavir regions.
The cost of one anti-hail station is around AMD 6 million (approx. US$
15,530), and they are domestically made.
As per Armenia's Deputy Agriculture Minister, the functioning anti-hail
stations are operating very effectively.
