IMPROVEMENT OF THE BUSINESS ATMOSPHERE A PRIORITY FOR THE ARMENIAN GOVERNMENT

Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received Tomasz Telma, International
Finance Corporation's (IFC) Director for Central and Eastern Europe.
"Improvement of the business atmosphere and formation of the middle
class are among the priorities of the Armenian government. From
this viewpoint we attach great importance to the IFC support to the
promotion of private entrepreneurship," PM Tigran Sargsyan said.
Tomasz Telma appreciated the relations between Armenia and IFC
and stressed the importance of implementation of joint programs in
different spheres.
The interlocutors discussed issues related to the development of
the asset market in our country, the joint programs targeted at
improving the business atmosphere. The Prime Minister reminded that
Armenia advanced six positions in the World Bank's "Business 2012:
Doing Business in a More Transparent World" report thanks to the
cooperation with the International Financial Corporation.
In this context the parties touched upon the reforms of the investment
climate and attached importance to the new joint programs in the
fields of taxes, food security and facilitation of export and import
procedures.
