    ARMENIA'S PRESIDENT DISCUSSES WITH SINGAPORE BUSINESSMEN INVESTMENT PROSPECTS IN ARMENIA

    YEREVAN, MARCH 28, ARMENPRESS. Armenia"s President Serzh Sargsyan
    arrived in Singapore March 27. On the next day the president met with
    the leadership of the country - President Tony Tan Keng Yam, Prime
    Minister Lee Hsien Loong as well as participated in the dinner served
    in his honor on behalf of Business Federation of Singapore. Leading
    businessmen and heads of influential corporations attended the dinner.

    Presidents of the two countries discussed possible steps to be made
    for development cooperation between the two countries in different
    spheres. The presidents attached significance to the expansion of
    educational, scientific, cultural ties between the two countries.

    At the meeting with the Singapore PM, the parties referred to the
    reinforcement of economic ties between the two countries.

    The official negotiations were summed up with the signing of a number
    of documents promoting development of cooperation.

    Within the framework of the state visit Serzh Sargsyan also visited
    Singapore botanic garden where the naming ceremony of Singapore"s
    symbol orchid took place.

    At the meeting with influential representatives of business circle,
    President Sargsyan discussed prospects of making investments in
    Armenia. The businessmen were particularly interested in cooperation
    in Armenia"s IT, telecommunication, health, urban development
    spheres. They were also interested in possible cooperation in
    construction of hydro power plants in Armenia. An arrangement has
    been achieved over visit of the Armenian businessmen to Singapore.
